Children's Musical Theater San Jose offers an exciting summer camp program with comprehensive theater training that promises to be engaging, challenging, and inspiring. CMT recognizes each child’s talent and gives him or her the necessary building blocks to grow as a performer. Sessions include classes in voice, acting, and dance, with cutting-edge workshops that culminate in a final performance for family and friends.

• Early Bird Registration – Get the lowest price of the season with our Early Bird Registration. For this limited time only, there are no penalties and no fees for cancellations or exchanges made before May 1. Don’t wait until it’s too late, register now and save! Offer Ends February 29
• Multiple Sessions, Save $100 – We want you back, and we’re willing to prove it! Join us again for a second or third session of CMT Summer Camp and you’ll save $100 on each additional registration. Also good towards sibling registrations.
• Same Low Prices On Extended Care – We know that families are busier than ever these days, so we want to make it easy for you to take advantage of our Green Room Extended Care. Register now for any camp session and add-on one of three Green Room Extended Care options.
• A Full Day Of Care For Tiny Tots – Same low rate! With our Tiny Tots Extended Care, your littlest ones (Pre-K thru K) can join us for our regular half-day program and have the option to stay for a full day of care, from 9 AM - 3 PM.
• Free Lunch – Lunches are provided for our campers with the Summer Food Program. This free lunch program is funded by the Moreland School District and offered at no cost to CMT or its participants while our camp is operating at one of the district's school sites. A Typical Day At Camp

Every day, campers will rotate through core classes in voice, acting, and dance, along with an exciting array of workshops, including sketch comedy, stage crafts, and more!

A Performance To Remember

Throughout each session, campers work toward a final performance for family and friends. These performances are designed to showcase campers' talents and hard work. Final performances are held during regular camp hours on the last day of each camp session.

Never Have The Same Session Twice

Because of the many campers who attend more than one session, we make sure that each camp is a unique, fun, and exciting experience. Join us again for a second or third session and SAVE $100 OFF each additional registration!

We're Giving You Our Full Attention

Our classes are designed to provide campers with individual attention. All of our classes are staffed with instructors, camp counselors, and extra teacher assistants so the ratio of campers to teachers is no more than 13 to 1.

We know that life can get pretty busy, but have no worries. Green Room Extended Care is CMT-run childcare, offered as a convenience to you at the CMT Summer Camp site.

During early morning and late afternoon hours, campers will pick from a variety of activities. These might include outdoor games, indoor games, water fun days, arts and crafts, and viewing of G-rated movies. Campers can also choose to read quietly or talk with friends. Look for a schedule of activities in your welcome packet!

Drop in as needed or, if you plan to use Green Room every day, make sure to pre-register and you will receive a discounted price that can add up to a SAVINGS OF UP TO 50% OFF the hourly rate. Just look for the Green Room Add-On options when you register for a camp session.

These stars-to-be will learn to explore their creativity through music, storytelling, movement, and arts and crafts. Both fun and educational, we have created our Tiny Tots program to provide a warm and nurturing environment, giving campers the opportunity to gain a wonderful introduction to the theatrical arts.

Final Performance: "HOW DO DINOSAURS SAY GOOD NIGHT"
The first of the hit series by Jane Yolen & Mark Teague will stomp all over the Summer Camp stage as the Tiny Tots learn how dinosaurs would go to bed every night. Featured songs include: "Let's Get It Started," "Mamma Knows Best," and "Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight."

Final Performance: "THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY"
The popular children's book by Judith Viorst will guide the Tiny Tots through making one the worst days ever into the greatest day in the whole world! Featured songs include: "When Will My Life Begin?" "Bad Day," and "I Can See Clearly Now."

Final Performance: "LIFE DOESN'T FRIGHTEN ME"
Maya Angelou's words come to life in this musical retelling of her majestic poem. The Tiny Tots will show that nothing scares them with courageous songs like "Afraid of the Dark," "Give A Little Whistle," and "I'm the Bravest Individual."

What a great way to learn about the performing arts! This summer will catch these stars-in-the-making and teach them a new set of skills to match their always active imaginations! Discover hidden talents with our core classes in voice, dance, and acting, and discover new talents with the fun Junior Talent workshops.

Final Performance: "AN UNDERWATER ADVENTURE"
An ordinary dip in the bathtub will turn into a rockin' trip under the sea. The campers will perform hit summer songs like "Surfin' USA," "Yellow Submarine," and "Under the Sea."

Final Performance: "JOURNEY TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM"
The Junior Talents will make a "wish upon a star" and use their imaginations to take a magical trip to the happiest place on earth. Sights and songs will include "The Tiki, Tiki Room," "The Mickey Mouse Club March," and "It's A Small World (After All)."

Final Performance: "WAY TOO MUCH TV!"
Don't change the channel and turn up the volume! The Junior Talents will be starring in their own TV musical, featuring the sounds of the most notable TV theme songs, such as the themes from "Sesame Street," "Addams Family," and "Fame."

These rising stars are on their way to an exciting, challenging, and fun-filled summer! Do you have a pre-teen who is always the life of the party or the clown at the dinner table? Holding sold-out concerts in the basement? Do they love to sing and dance? CMT Summer Camp is the place to be. Satisfy all of their needs with core classes in voice, acting, and dance, and expand their horizons with fantastic Rising Star workshops.

Final Performance: "SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS"
Since the success of the stage musical "Beauty and the Beast," Disney has transformed various hit films into Broadway smashes! Campers will perform showstoppers such as "Be Our Guest," "King of New York," and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."

Final Performance: "IT'S SUMMERTIME, CHARLIE BROWN!"
Everyone's favorite comic strip gang will burst onto the Summer Camp stage, performing hits from the musicals "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," and "Snoopy." Join Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, and Snoopy, too! Featured songs include: "T-E-A-M (The Baseball Game)," "Suppertime," & "Happiness."

Final Performance: "WELCOME TO THE 60'S!"
From "Hairspray" to "All Shook Up," the Broadway stage can't get enough of the music from the 1950s and 60s. The Rising Stars will perform favorites like "Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now," "Stand By Me," and "River Deep, Mountain High."

Ready to hit the stage this summer? No stars shine brighter than those found in CMT's Mainstage program. Our fun and demanding summer curriculum is a perfect fit for those seeking to build upon and improve their musical theater talent, as well as for those just getting started! Our core classes in voice, acting, and dance help students gain confidence and skills in all three key disciplines. In addition to becoming well-rounded performers, these stars will also benefit from a variety of inspiring and entertaining workshops.

Final Performance: "AND THE TONY GOES TO..."
Creating and starring in the first ever Summer Camp Tony Awards, the Mainstage campers will honor the last decade in Tony award-winning musicals, from "Hairspray" to "Memphis." Featured songs include: "Another Op'nin', Another Show," "Electricity," and "Memphis Lives In Me."

Final Performance: "GLEE: REVENGE OF THE GLEEKS!"
Performing selections from the third season of the hit television series "Glee," the Mainstagers will form their own glee club of proud, quirky musical theater thespians. Featured songs include: "It's Not Unusual" and mash-ups like "Rumor Has It/Someone Like You" and "Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do."

Final Performance: "MUSICALS THAT ROCK"
Whether it be the 50s sound of "Grease" or the contemporary beat of "American Idiot," Broadway is always rockin' and so will the Mainstagers, head-banging to hits like "Pinball Wizard," "Seasons of Love," and "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)."
