Auditioning at CMT

We Cast All Who Audition

Welcome to Children’s Musical Theater! We are thrilled you have chosen to be a part of one of our productions.

Our auditions are offered for two to three days, depending on the production. Please arrive at our Rehearsal Hall/Administrative Office on the day which best suits your schedule on or before the posted time.

If you are new to the CMT audition process, we encourage you to participate on the second day where we will focus on new families. Our mandatory pre-audition meeting will be geared towards giving you the answers to the most frequently asked questions as well as giving individual attention to those with concerns that we haven’t anticipated. We realize that auditioning for the first time can be overwhelming and we want to take the anxiety out of the process by addressing your questions early. Seasoned parent volunteers will be available to answer any and all questions.

Age Guidelines

We stand behind our promise to cast every child who auditions for a CMT Rising Stars or Mainstage production. The following are our age guidelines:

• Children ages 8-14 may audition for Rising Star productions.*
• Children ages 14-20 may audition for Mainstage productions.*
• Alumni and local professionals may audition for Marquee Productions.

*Age requirements must be met by the day of your audition. Please note that age limits may vary for each production.14 and in 8th grade audition for Rising Stars. 14 and in high school audition for Mainstage

Tuition

There is a $190 fee to participate in each CMT Rising Stars show. The fee is discounted to $165 for each additional sibling that participates. There is a $160 tuition fee to participate in each Mainstage show. The Mainstage tuition is discounted to $135 for each sibling that participates in a Mainstage show.

Audition Checklist

• Download and complete an AUDITION PACKET. Bring it with you on the day of your audition, along with your attached resume, if you have one.
• Review the CONFLICT CALENDAR for the show(s) you are auditioning for. When you come to your audition, be prepared to submit any prior commitments that might prevent you from attending any rehearsals. View now.
• RESUME (optional)
• PREPARED SONG (with accompaniment if applicable)
• DANCE CLOTHES & SHOES
